The Prime Cycle is a design idea/tool that was created to help people with the lay out of a design brief, and the design concepts. For each sub heading there is something different that will help your design brief in becoming better and more in depth.
Problem
The problem (also known as the Design Brief), is the problem that I am presented with and I must solve. For example, I may be required to make an animation for a Television Show.The problem is what creates the need for the design, because if there was no problem, then nothing would be needed to be created. The problem is the base for the whole design portfolio to be made from.

Research
Research allows me to explore the all the different strategies I can use to solve the problem. I will also explore how other Designers have solved similar problems and what worked well for them. By looking at other designs, I will be able to have an better idea on how I can approach my design brief. This enables us to have a bigger approach to completing the task so we can create a better final product. The research is one of the most important parts of Prime because without knowledge, we would not know how or what we do.

Ideas
In the ideas section, I will further develop my ideas ready for the production (Make) stage. That way I will be adequately planned and prepared for the production. During ideas I may develop a script for my animation, possibly some sketches of characters and develop a story board that I can follow when creating my animation. The Ideas are important because then we have a fully planned out design so we are not stuck there, trying to think of what happens in the next scene of the animation.

Make
During the make stage I will commence the development of my animation using the software and resources that I have decided upon. At times I may have to refer to my ideas to make sure I am heading in the correct direction and occasionally undertake more research in the use of software or other resources I may unexpectedly require.

Evaluate
This allows me to reflect on my project and assess that my product solved the problem I was presented with. To do this I will use the Four (4) P's Model, which I have expanded upon below;
Evaluation is important because it lets the design process return. When marking the work we can see the flaws, so that then we can fix them next time, making a better product. Why do you think there are so many iPhones.
Product - Discuss if and how my product solved my problem. Also see the features of the product and mark them on their completion. The design criteria is used to mark the product, and see if it fills all the things it needs to.
Process - Dicuss how I used the PRIME Design Cycle to assist in solving the problem. Also see if the processes we used were done well.
Personal - Discuss how I used my time (i.e. time management) and also my class and home application. This is important because then we cal learn how we ourselves can improve for next time.
Peers - Interview 4 people (class mates, family or friends) regarding your blogger and animation. This is important because then we can see if the people like the work we did, so we know if it is good when we release or before we release the product to the market.
