Evaluate
Now that the animation is finally complete it is time to evaluate the product so that for next time, I know what I have to do to make a better product.
Product- After all of the time that was put into this project, and researching how I can make the best animation possible, enabling me to fix the problem. Now that the project is done, in my opinion the project did fix the problem, which was to make a funny animation using stop motion, that was child friendly.
The reason that I think that the animation did fix the criteria that I set for myself is because I ticked all the boxes that I needed to, and did a little more. First of all the animation did have a main Character, and a few support characters, with the creation of Xenon and the two small aliens. Then the animation was also child safe, with no violence and course language. The animation was over 30 seconds long, and it was Stop motion. Finally the animation was hilariously funny in my opinion, so that is Comedy Genre ticked.
Process- Using the PRIME cycle was a big help in my opinion because it enabled me to use my time well, and have a complete understanding of the things that I have to do in my animation. It also helped me lay out all of my work, so that lots of information was not scattered around my blog. By using PRIME, I was able to stay on top of all the work I had to do, meaning I never fell behind in any of the parts of work I had to do. This enabled me to not become stressed, and do all of the work on the last day before hand in. It also helped a lot with me keeping track of every piece of information on my blog, making work a lot easier for me to pick up and go. Also when I finished one section of the blog, I could easily move on to the next section, and know what I have to do. So by using the PRIME cycle I was able to stay completely in control of the situation which enabled me to spend more time on making my animation.
Personnel- My time management was quite good, but could have been better in my opinion. At the beginning I was racing ahead of the class, getting all of my work for the next week done before they started, but in the later weeks I slowed down a bit, but never fell behind. By me slowing down a bit, in the end I had less time than I wanted to complete my animation and edit it properly. But if you consider never falling behind great, then that is how I worked.
My class and home application was very good. Each lesson I would set myself a goal, that I wanted myself to reach before the next lesson. This enabled me to keep on pushing myself to reach my full potential in the end. If I didn't reach my goal in class, then I would finish the part at home, making me never fall behind. This enabled me to continuously move on, and at my own pace, so that I was never pushed to move faster, making me go and do as much as I want.
Peer-
Anton-Amrit, has throughout the unit, has worked really hard to achieve the very best he can. This shows in the high quality of work that he has produced. His efforts & general attitude to the unit has been outstanding. Both his fishing & alien animations have been put together, with a lot of careful handwork, & some very very clever ideas. I hope that Amrit continues up the excellent work in future projects.
Jack- Amrit has worked extremely hard during this unit, which is shown in his portfolio and his animation. He has a clearly outlined blog, with a large amount of information relevant to animation in it. His blog is extremely well done due to the large amount of time he clearly put into it. His animation then was able to excite me and show me how good a school boys animation can be. Through the use of good footage, and great editing, he was able to make a great animation.
Paul- Amrit was able to create an amazing animation due to his hard work and extensive knowledge of the work he was doing, due to the well laid out portfolio he presented in his blog. With this knowledge, he was able to apply hard techniques to his animation making it stand out from the other boys in the class.
